Chemko

The company

Chemical manufacturing in Strážske – today’s Chemko, a.s. Strážske began in 1952 with construction of a factory for the production of explosives and by-products for military and civilian purposes.

With changes on the market in 1990s the economically inefficient production of explosives ceased by the end of 2003 and finished completely on 1 January 2005.

Upon a decision of its general assembly, Chemko, a.s. was wound up as at 03 April 2009 and a liquidation procedure was initiated on the same day. INVESTEND, s.r.o., having its seat at Hattalova 12/C, 831 03 Bratislava, represented by JUDr. Juraj Vrábel, the company’s executive officer, was appointed by the general assembly to be the liquidator.

At present, Chemko, a.s Slovakia – a subsidiary company – produces top inorganic and organic chemistry products, such as light stabilisers (e.g. Dastib) and related by-products, pentaerythritol and phenolic resins.

Service activities for chemical manufacturing at the Chemko plant and for external clients are provided by other subsidiaries.
